Patricia I don't know for sure that what we are being told is correct. Every mailout that I have received has shown calculations for drawing pension at an earlier age but at a lower rate. The mailouts were not specifically printed up as a calculation addressing my personal situation but why put the info there if it does not apply. I am not getting my hopes up but I think what we were told might refer to the higher rate for retirement. Just like social security if you draw early you get less but for a longer time. As soon as I receive my calculation package I am going to call back and find out for sure. After all why would the center agree to send you a pacakge if you are still years away from 65. Also I might try to contact the local union hall and ask if this is correct.

Patricia I worked for the phone company from 1969 until I was laid off in 1992. I just called 800 736 7779 today and was told they will mail me a calculation package but that I cannot start drawing my pension until I reach 65. I'm only 59 now. This is not what I was led to believe while employed at AT&T. What have you heard from the retirement center? Barbara
